Campers who want shade, solitude, or a view will find none of the three here. The sites sit open between two roads, the vault toilet has a broken lock and bullet holes in the door, there's no potable water, and the trail is overgrown with blowdowns and no signage.

Spring delivers the best conditions. Snowmelt swells the creek, wildflowers bloom along the Underhill Trail, and the forest reaches peak vibrancy. Daytime temperatures run 45–65°F with nights dropping into the 30s–40s°F. Expect occasional rain and muddy trails from runoff. Hiking, creekside photography, and early-season birding are strongest before summer weekend crowds arrive.

Underhill Campground offers minimal amenities since it was formerly a designated dispersed campsite. Official sources confirm the absence of potable water and restroom facilities, making it a basic camping destination. User reviews mention the presence of a vault toilet, though its condition is questionable, with one reviewer noting it was 'clean,' but with 'a broken lock and bullet holes in the steel door.' Additionally, a covered area with a 'massive picnic table inside' is available, providing some shelter from rain. Of the three sites available, none offer significant privacy or compelling views.
