Summer offers the most reliable access and the best weather for hiking and backcountry exploration — expect sunny, crisp days with daytime highs typically in the 70s to low 80s°F (21–28°C) and cool nights in the 40s–50s°F (4–12°C). Trails like Lobo Canyon are at their most inviting, wildflower displays linger into early summer, and long daylight hours make for full days of exploring and evening stargazing. Bosque Campground, located at an elevation of 7,400 feet in the Cibola National Forest, offers a mix of amenities focused on a rustic camping experience. Each campsite is equipped with a picnic table and a campfire ring with a grill.
