Forgetting water at home is a trip-ruiner here, there's none on-site. Road noise bleeds through on busy Enchanted Circle weekends, outhouse cleanliness is hit-or-miss, and reviewers have flagged litter. Solitude-seekers will feel the highway more than the forest.
Compare with similar sites, watch availability, and build a packing list — Camp Sage handles all of it.
Early fall delivers the best conditions. Late September through early October brings daytime highs in the low 50s to upper 60s°F, with nights dropping to 25–35°F. Aspens peak during this window, and fishing picks up as fish become more active in cooler water. Afternoon thunderstorms taper off compared to summer's monsoon pattern. Weekends see heavier use from leaf-peepers touring the Enchanted Circle, so reserve ahead. Summer is warmer but wetter. Winter closes access with snow.
Early fall highlighted as best time; aspens peak late Sept–Oct and reviewers praise fall colors.
