About Round Valley Campground

Round Valley Recreation Area surrounds the deep, clear Round Valley Reservoir at the base of Cushetunk Mountain in Lebanon, Hunterdon County. It is the only New Jersey state park offering wilderness camping. The wilderness campsites sit in secluded clearings along the southeastern shoreline and have NO vehicle access (the listed coordinate marks the west-side access/office). Sites are reached only by backpacking or mountain biking 3-6 miles along the rugged Cushetunk Trail, or by boat via the campers' launch. Facilities are primitive: fire rings, picnic tables, pit toilets, and limited drinking water; carry-in/carry-out.
