Summer is the best time to visit, with daytime highs in the mid-70s to low-80s°F and nights cooling into the 40s–50s°F. Long daylight hours and stable weather make paddling and fishing most reliable from June through early September. Weekends see higher use. Occasional fire restrictions apply in peak summer. Weekdays or the shoulder ends of summer offer quieter water. Winter brings snow and cold, limiting access and usability for most visitors.
