Best season: summer. Summer offers the most reliable access, mild daytime temperatures (typically 60–75°F) and cool nights (40–50°F), long daylight for full-day hikes, and the widest range of services and trail access. Trails to iconic destinations like Grinnell Glacier, Iceberg Lake, and Swiftcurrent Pass are generally snow-free and at peak condition, making hiking, fishing, and wildlife viewing (moose, bears, mountain goats) the main draws. Expect the highest visitor numbers in July–August, so book campsites early Peak months: July, August, June, September Avoid: December, January, February
July–August offers best weather and trail access, though peak crowds are common.
