The bath house is older with small push-button showers and limited temperature control, which frustrates campers expecting comfortable morning rinse-offs. No potable water or dump station on site either, and pets can't come.

This 18 mile narrow canyon reservoir of 3,150-acres has limited access to 60 miles of shoreline. Boating, canoeing, windsurfing, and fishing are the major recreation activities at Arrowrock, located east of Boise. The reservoir is only 30 minutes from Boise and provides access to the city's nearest national forest. Fish species include rainbow trout, kokanee, yellow perch, whitefish, and the protected bull trout. Season open year-round. Summer delivers the most reliable cabin experience. Typical highs in the 70s–80s°F and lows in the 50s°F make for comfortable evenings and long trail days. Wildflowers and full canopy are at their peak, and water access at the Rum River headwaters is most inviting. Mosquitoes are active, so bring repellent. Weekends and holidays see the highest visitor levels. Book cabins early. Mid-week visits in May, June, August, or October feel quieter and more private. Cabins are available year-round, though winter brings snow and hushed conditions for snowshoeing.
Hardwood forests imply strong fall color viewing though specifics aren't detailed.

On-site restrooms and a bath house with showers are mentioned in user reports; some sites have electrical hookups (30- and 50-amp). Camper cabins are available year-round and some are accessible.
