Natural Features and SceneryThe campground occupies a flat setting at 597 feet elevation where Lake Macatawa meets the channel to Lake Michigan. The Pines Loop has mature trees that provide shade and some visual screening. Sites elsewhere tend to be grassy and open. Paved trails connect to the Lake Michigan shoreline, where sugar-sand beaches and dune ridges front the Great Lake.
