Summer is the clear best time to visit Pickerel Cove because the campground is officially open June 1 through Labor Day and lake conditions are reliably navigable for paddlers and ferries. Expect daytime highs typically in the mid-50s to low-70s°F (13–22°C) with cool mornings and evenings, ideal for paddling, shoreline exploring, fishing, and long daylight wildlife viewing.
