<p>Federal Gulch Campground is a non-fee, non-reservation campground located on the East Fork of the Wood River. The campground is composed of 3 campsites on the East Fork of the Wood River. The trailhead provides access to Federal Gulch Tr. No. 169, which connects to the remote and seldom-visited Little Wood River country. The campground is generally accessible May through October. Campground amenities include a vault toilet is located in the campground, and each site has a fire ring and picnic table. Stock is permitted in designated areas and hitching rails are provided.</p>

Summer is the reliable window here. Daytime highs sit between 60 and 80°F, nights drop to 30–45°F. Trails are snow-free, wildflowers peak in the alpine zones, and the river warms enough for comfortable streamside camping. Afternoon thunderstorms are possible. Expect moderate weekend use but far less traffic than you'll find closer to Ketchum. The official season runs June through September, though access may open as early as May depending on snowmelt.

Federal Gulch Campground offers minimal but useful amenities. The campground has a vault toilet, and each of the three campsites is equipped with a fire ring and a picnic table.
