Best season: summer. Summer offers the most reliable weather and easiest access to high trails and alpine lakes — expect warm daytime temperatures in the 60s–80s°F (15–27°C) with cool nights dipping to the 30s–40s°F (0–8°C). Wildflower displays, long daylight for extended hikes, and minimal snow on passes make July and August prime for scrambling the granite spires and visiting remote basins. Crowd levels remain lower here than on the Sawtooth front side, so you get peak scenery with a good chance of solitude. Peak months: July, August, September, June Avoid: December, January, February
