Best season: fall. Fall offers the best combination of comfortable weather, fewer crowds, and peak scenery: expect crisp days in the mid-40s to mid-60s°F and cool nights in the 30s–40s°F at 6,600 ft. Trails are dry and ideal for hiking and geology-focused exploration, and the surrounding cliffs and groves take on rich earth tones that accentuate the park's unique rock formations. Wildlife viewing is excellent as animals prepare for winter, and visitation drops after Labor Day so you’ll often have quieter campsites Peak months: September, October, June, July Avoid: January, February
Described as best season: comfortable temps, fewer crowds and peak scenery.
