<p>Flatrock Campground is located 22 miles south of West Yellowstone, Montana off of Highway 20. The campground is adjacent to the Henry's Fork of the Snake River.</p>
The elevation is 6,400 ft. NOTE: The West Entrance to Yellowstone National Park is about 24 miles north of campground. The campground is composed of two sections: Lower - A and Upper - B. Section A is on a hillside and is the nearest to Henry's Fork of the Snake River. Some of the camping sites in this section overlook the river and are the most open with tent pads. Section B loops through a stand of Lodgepole pine. Most of the sites are shaded with parking aprons larger than the lower section. There are grey water disposal stations at some of the sites and electric hook-ups in this section. The understory is grass and wildflowers. Traffic noise from US Rt. 20 can be distracting. Nature walks are held Saturday evenings; check fee board for locations, time and subject. Boat rentals, hot showers, and laundry available at intersection of S. Big Spring Targhee National Forest 467 Ave. and US Rt. 20 in Island Park, ID. This is bear country; practice safe food-storage techniques. Use the provided bear-proof food storage boxes.

The parking aprons are dirt or paved. An RV waste station with potable water and fee, is at intersection of S Big Springs Ave and US Rt. 20.
In Island Park, ID, from intersection of Koeger/A2 and US Rt. 20, take Rt. 20 north 3.5 miles to campground sign. Turn left into campground.

Best season: summer. Summer offers the most reliable access and the most comfortable weather — daytime highs typically in the low to mid-70s°F with nights dipping into the 40s–50s°F — making it ideal for riverside camping without heavy layering. This is peak season for trout fishing on Henry's Fork, boating, hiking the volcanic landscapes, and long daylight for wildlife viewing (elk, moose, eagles). Expect moderate-to-busy crowds because Flat Rock is a short drive from West Yellowstone, and be prepared for possible夏 Peak months: July, August, June, September Avoid: October, November, December, January

Flat Rock Campground offers a range of essential amenities including single and double campsites with some equipped with 50-amp electric hookups. Sites come with picnic and utility tables, a campfire ring, and a tent pad. 'Vault toilets, drinking water, and trash collection are provided.' The interior roads and parking spurs are gravel, ensuring easy access for vehicles. Amenities like boat rentals, shuttle service, showers, laundry facilities, gas, and groceries are available nearby at Macks Inn, just across the highway. 'A mixed growth of lodgepole pine forest provides partial shade,' and some sites are located close to the river, offering scenic views.
