No pets, no toilets, no water, no hookups, and no driving in. If carrying everything you need on a boat or your back sounds like the wrong kind of trip, this place has nothing to offer you.
Compare with similar sites, watch availability, and build a packing list — Camp Sage handles all of it.
Fall brings the most comfortable camping, with daytime highs around 65–82°F, nights in the 50–60°F range, lower humidity, and reduced mosquito pressure. Water levels stabilize after summer rains, making paddling especially pleasant, and migratory birds pass through. Spring offers similar mild conditions with good water flow. Summer turns very hot and humid but the water stays refreshing and vegetation is lush; expect larger crowds on the upper run near Kelly Park and heavy insect activity. Winter delivers excellent hiking and wildlife viewing with fewer biting bugs, though cold fronts can make water activities chilly. The reserve stays open year-round.
Peak season with warm days. Most facilities open. Reserve ahead.
