<p>At Alexander Springs Recreation Area, enjoy a shaded campground within an easy walk of the springs swimming and picnic area. This 67-unit campground can accommodate tents and recreation vehicles (up to 35-feet long).</p><p>The concessionaire sells a variety of snacks, souvenirs, ice, charcoal, firewood, beach items and personal items. (Please note: No food is cooked on site by the concessionaire).</p><p><strong>** NOTE: </strong>Limited internet may affect operations. Please come prepared to make purchases with cash. </p><p><strong>Camping</strong></p><ul><li>The 67-unit campground can accomodate tents and recreation vehicles up to 35-feet long.</li><li><strong>Expect full recreation sites during weekends. </strong></li><li>Visitors are recommended to <strong>arrive early and have back-up plans</strong>.</li><li>Recreation sites may close when maximum capacity is reached.</li><li>Alexander Springs campsites sites are available by reservation -- Call (877) 444-6777 or visit <a href="https://www.recreation.gov/camping/campgrounds/234032">Recreation.gov</a>.</li><li>The maximum stay is 14-consecutive days in a 30-day period.</li><li>Detailed camping regulations are posted and available at the entrance gate house.</li><li>Electrical, water or sewer hookups are not available; Hot showers and a dump station are provided.</li></ul>
The elevation is 50 feet This destination campground is located in a subtropical forest dominated by pine, oak and Sable palms and has four loops (A, B, C & D). Enjoy a large spring that flows at 80 million gallons of crystal clear water a day. Scuba diving (permitted in the spring) and canoeing the 7-mile canoe run are popular activities. Loop B has the only tent pads. An amphitheater and limited groceries are found at the beach. Firewood, ice, and canoe rentals are available. This is bear country; practise safe food storage technique. It is also alligator country; practice caution around water especially with small dogs.

From Altoona, FL, take State Rt. 19 north for 3.7 miles to Alexander Springs sign (County Rd. 445). Turn onto Rt. 445 and go 5.1 miles to campground on the left.
