<p>This campground is at 9800-foot elevation. The campground is located between Jumbo and Sunset Lakes among mature spruce and aspen trees. The hilly terrain provides privacy for closely spaced sites and a challenge to drivers. Most sites have views of the lakes and are within easy walking distance.</p><p>There are 21 sites with electric and 5 without. Maximum spur length is 60 ft.</p><p>The nearby Mesa Lakes Ranger Station was built by the Civilian Conservation Corps in 1941 and provides information to campers. There are lodges close by that provide for a cook's night out. The mosquitoes are plentiful; bring repellent. 26 campsites.</p>

Best season: fall. Visit in early to mid-September for crisp, calm weather and peak aspen color — days typically range from the mid-40s to mid-60s°F (7–18°C) with chilly nights often dipping near freezing. Fall brings the fewest bugs and smaller crowds, making it ideal for hiking, lakeside fishing, wildlife viewing, and photography around Jumbo and Sunset Lakes. The clarity of the air and calmer winds also make paddling and boating especially pleasant, but be prepared for the possibility of an early snowstorm at 9 Peak months: September, August, July, June Avoid: October, November, December, January
