Best season: fall. Fall offers the best combination of comfortable daytime temps, dramatically quieter campsites, and minimal mosquitoes — expect crisp days around 45–65°F and nights that often drop below freezing by October. The creek flows have dropped to a gentle murmur, grasses and meadow edges take on golden tones, and the campground is at its most peaceful for hiking, photography, and star‑gazing. Crowds are lighter than summer, but check for early snow and local hunting seasons before you go. Peak months: September, October, August, June Avoid: December, January, February
Described explicitly as 'best season: fall' with crisp temps, quieter sites, fewer mosquitoes.
