Best season: summer. Summer delivers the most reliable access and the best weather — expect crisp mornings around 45–50°F and comfortable afternoons in the mid-70s (around 76°F), with long daylight for hikes and rides. Trails, meadow wildflowers and mountain vistas are at their peak, and all primitive campground facilities are open (vault toilets only). Crowds remain modest because Holey Meadow has just 10 tent sites, but holiday weekends fill up, so reserve or arrive early. Peak months: July, August, September, June Avoid: November, December, January, February
Opens May 9; wildflowers in nearby meadows reported, but spring access is late and variable.

Holey Meadow Campground offers a range of amenities suitable for primitive camping. The campground has 10 individual campsites accommodating tents only. Each campsite is equipped with a picnic table and a campfire ring. Vault toilets are provided. No potable water is available on-site; campers are advised to bring their own supply. There are no RV hookups, no electricity, and no on-site trash collection for all days. A user described the vault toilets as 'one of the cleaner one's I've seen,' but another noted the smell from the restrooms when located close to the campsites. The camp does not offer showers or modern conveniences like Wi-Fi.
