Low-clearance vehicles will struggle on the access road, and weekend OHV traffic on nearby routes is a real noise issue. No potable water and no trash service mean you're packing everything in and out. Also worth knowing: the campground is closed for the entire 2025 season.

The elevation is 6,100 ft. The campground, one of seven in the Jackson Meadow Recreation Area, is located near the south end of Jackson Meadow Reservoir in a stand of mixed fir and some pine. The campground has two loops and a spur. Campsites at the far end have longer parking aprons; shade is better than the other loop and spur. Furthest from everything but boat ramp, the campground offers a good location for boaters and anglers. There is no extra parking for boat trailers except at the boat ramp. None of the campsites have a view of lake. This is bear country; practice safe food storage techniques.

Summer is the reliable window here. Daytime highs run mid-60s to mid-80s°F, nights drop to the mid-30s to low-50s°F. The campground is accessible from Memorial Day through mid-October. Trails dry out by early summer. Crowds stay light to moderate except holiday weekends. Winter brings snow that closes access, though the tags mention winter activities (likely referring to the broader area, not the campground itself). The campground will be closed throughout the 2025 season.
