Lake Spaulding Campground sits at 5,000 feet on the shore of a clear alpine reservoir managed by PG&E. The 13 walk-in tent sites nestle among ponderosa pines and granite boulders, with limited overflow parking for small RVs near the boat ramp. Most sites are first-come, first-served. Access is paved from Highway 20, about 33 miles west of Truckee.
