Overview

Located on a hillside overlooking Bass Lake, Forks Campground has huge Ponderosa Pines that create a majestic setting for a fantastic camping experience. The camp lies at an elevation of 3,400 feet and offers a few sites with limited lake views, while others are adjacent to the creek. Each unit has a picnic table, pedestal grill, stone fire ring and paved parking spur. Forks Campground provides flush toilets (including ones that meet accessibility standards) and drinking water. The parking spurs here are not large enough to fit boat trailers.

Bass Lake is a very popular area known for its variety of fish, as well as the bald and golden eagles that make their home here. The lake is within walking distance where you can enjoy the beach, fishing, water skiing and swimming. The Forks is located 24 miles from the entrance of Yosemite and in the Sierra National Forest. About the campground

The elevation is 3,400 ft. Sierra National Forest 313 The campground, one of four in the Bass Lake Recreation Area and across the road from Bass Lake, is composed of two unnamed overlapping loops on a hillside overlooking Bass Lake. A few camp sites have a limited view of the lake. Cedar, oak, and pines provide ample shade for most camp sites and fair privacy. There is insufficient space for parking boat trailers at any site. The camp sites have pedestal grilles and stone fire rings. A few sites are adjacent to a creek that feeds the lake. Resorts scattered along the Bass Lake shoreline offer a variety of services including gas, tackle, bait, boat rentals, limited groceries, and a cook's night out. A variety of interpretive/campfire programs are offered during summer weekends - check campground fee board for schedule.
