<p>Bishop Park is one of the most popular campgrounds in the Bishop Creek Area. Located on the banks of the Middle Fork of Bishop Creek, Bishop Park has grassy lawns and campsites right on the creek. Many of the 21 campsites are walk in tent sites. Not recommended for large RVs, there are a few sites that will accommodate smaller rigs. </p>
The elevation is 8,300 ft. The campground stretches along the North Fork of Bishop Creek among Jeffrey and Lodgepole pines, some Aspen and cottonwoods. The tent sites back up on the creek allowing anglers to fish from the comfort of their camp site. The combined camp sites have limited shade and a more desert feel with nice views of surrounding mountain peaks. Bear box food containers are found throughout campground. Firewood is available for a fee. The nearby Cardinal Village Resort offers a variety of services from limited groceries and fishing supplies to internet access, a cafe serving breakfast and lunch, and much more. This is bear country; practice safe food storage techniques. "Possessing/storing food so bears/wild animals have access will result in a fine of at least $150."

The parking aprons are dirt. Camp sites 1 through 3 are on a spur with no turnaround; travel trailers not recommended.
In Bishop, CA, at intersection of US Rt. 395 and State Rt. 168, take Rt. 168 west 16.5 miles to campground on right. NOTE: Campground is across the street from Bishop Park Group campground.

Best season: summer. Summer offers the most reliable access and the best high‑country weather — expect sunny, crisp days in the mid‑60s to mid‑70s°F and cool nights dipping into the 30s–40s°F. Snowmelt feeds Bishop Creek, making fishing and creekside camping outstanding, and trails into the Inyo and John Muir Wilderness (e.g., Lakes Basin, North Fork routes) are fully accessible. Afternoon thunderstorms (especially July–August) are common, so plan hikes for mornings and expect peak crowds in July–August with campsaw Peak months: July, August, September, June Avoid: November, December, January, February

Bishop Park Campground is well-equipped with essential amenities to ensure a comfortable stay for campers. Each of the 21 single campsites is outfitted with picnic tables, fire rings with cooking grills, tent pads, and food storage boxes. Campers have access to flush toilets and potable water. "The cleanest bathrooms and facility, the nicest campground employees," one review highlights. The campground is pet-friendly, with rules requiring pets to be leashed at all times. A campground host is on-site to assist with queries and sell firewood. Note that there are no hookups for RVs or trailers.
