Best season: fall. Fall offers the best combination of mild daytime temperatures, crisp nights, and colorful mountain foliage — expect daytime highs in the mid-50s to mid-70s °F (12–24°C) and nights dipping into the 30s–40s °F (0–8°C). Trails are at their best for hiking and wildlife viewing, fishing is excellent as fish feed before winter, and nearby Bass Lake often remains warm enough for boating into early fall. Crowds are noticeably lighter than peak summer weekends, but note the campground remains closed from Peak months: October, September, June, May Avoid: January, February, March, April
Campground currently closed due to the 2020 Creek Wildfire.
