Best season: summer. Summer offers the most reliable access and the best weather — expect sunny days around 75–82°F and cool nights dropping into the low 50s — which makes long hikes, mountain biking, creek fishing, and evening campfires comfortable. Trails and creekside fishing are at their peak after the spring runoff settles, and clear skies provide expansive mountain views and excellent stargazing. Weekends in July–August can be busy with families and groups, so plan weekday trips or reserve early for large-site Peak months: July, August, September, October Avoid: November, December, January, February
Autumnal beauty on Aspen Grove Trail makes fall especially attractive.
