Tent campers can stop reading now since Redhead is RV-only. Large rigs also need to know some sites run short and tight for backing, and summer weekends pack the loop close enough that privacy nearly disappears.

Summer offers the best combination of warm daytime weather (typically 65–85°F), long daylight for boating and fishing, and fully available campground services. Water recreation on Fool Hollow Lake peaks then, and the tall pines keep sites pleasantly cooler than the low desert. Expect higher weekend crowds and afternoon monsoons, especially July through August. Shoulder seasons (late spring and early fall) bring fewer campers while still providing good weather. Gate hours extend April through October, then reduce November through March. The dump station and fish cleaning facilities close in winter and reopen each April.
Peak season with warm weather, perfect for water activities. Book early.

Redhead Loop is an electric RV loop at Fool Hollow Lake with water at all sites and sewer available in Mallard and Redhead loops. The park has a dump station and fish cleaning stations (noted as seasonally closed when low-water conditions occur). Concrete pads, restrooms and showers are mentioned elsewhere on the park camping pages (restrooms/showers are explicitly called out for the tent-only sites).
