Best season: fall. Fall offers the best balance of mild daytime temperatures (typically 65–85°F) and cool, pleasant nights (40–55°F), making long hikes and creekside relaxation comfortable. Cottonwoods along Clear Creek show late-season color and water levels are generally moderate — ideal for fishing, wildlife viewing, and photography without the summer heat. Crowds are lower than spring and summer, though watch for weekend day-use visitors and limited hunting activity in parts of the Verde Valley in November. Peak months: October, November, March, April Avoid: July, August
Spring brings wildflowers and mild temps; reviews note comfortable conditions then.
