Best season: fall. Fall offers the most comfortable weather and the best combination of scenery and solitude — daytime highs around the 60s–70s°F (50s°F by late November) and crisp nights in the 30s–40s°F make hiking and creek-side photography pleasant. Oak and walnut foliage matures and wildlife activity picks up as animals prepare for winter, so wildlife viewing and short, scenic hikes are at their peak. Crowds are typically lighter than summer, but check for occasional fire closures or local hunting seasons on‑ Peak months: October, September, November, May
Fall described as most comfortable with daytime highs in 60s–70s and beautiful foliage.
