The restroom is currently closed, and there's no potable water on site ever. Summer visits have been rough, with gnats and flies bad enough that reviewers couldn't sit outside. RVs have no hookups and won't fit the primitive sites.

Spring offers the best combination of mild weather, blooming understory, and lower crowds. Expect clear skies about 70% of the time with daytime highs around the mid-60s°F and crisp mornings near 45°F. Wildflowers and fresh green hardwood leaves make ridge-top hikes and photography especially rewarding, while the small campground remains peaceful compared with busier parks. Trails are generally dry and accessible. Summer brings flies and gnats that reviewers describe as horrible. Consider bringing serious insect repellent if you visit during warmer months.
Described as best season: mild weather, blooms, fresh foliage and lower crowds.
