Lake Ouachita, AR is located on the Ouachita River near the resort spa of Hot Springs. Its crystal-clear waters make the lake a popular site for scuba diving. There are numerous camping, fishing and swimming opportunities at the lake as well as concessions with marinas, motels, restaurants and horseback riding. There is a boating trail for viewing geological formations on the shoreline.

Fall offers the best combination of comfortable weather, vibrant Ouachita foliage, and excellent lake recreation — daytime highs typically sit in the mid-60s to mid-70s°F with cool nights in the 40s–50s. Lake Ouachita remains warm enough for boating, kayaking, and late-season swimming while anglers chase active striped bass and crappie as they feed ahead of colder weather. All 59 campsites have electric hookups, but keep in mind the spaces are small and unpaved. Campsite pad lengths vary greatly from site to site due to the terrain. Water hookups are not available, but a water faucet is located in each loop. Other amenities include a dump station, fish cleaning station, hot showers, boat ramp and a swim beach.
