Best season: fall. Fall delivers the best balance of comfortable weather and scenery — daytime highs generally sit in the mid-60s to low-70s with cool nights in the 40s–50s, and peak foliage in the Ouachita foothills often arrives mid-to-late October. DeGray Lake still holds enough warmth for boating, late-season swimming, and excellent bass/striped fishing, while the golden/red slopes create spectacular reflections for photography and paddling. Crowds taper after Labor Day and during the campground's non-peak Oct Peak months: October, September, May Avoid: December, January, February, March
Fall noted as most comfortable; foliage peaks and reviews are most positive in fall.
