Best season: fall. Fall offers the most dramatic experience at Middle Mountain Cabins — crisp days (typically 45–65°F) and cool, clear nights (30s–40s) highlight peak foliage on the ridges and create excellent conditions for hiking, wildlife viewing, and photography. Trails are drier and visibility through the birch and maple stands is at its best for spotting deer and migrating birds, while crowds remain moderate because the site is remote. Plan for possible hunting activity in late October–November and wear high Peak months: October, September, May, June Avoid: December, January, February, March
