No potable water on-site is a hard stop for anyone not prepared to pack it all in. Late arrivals on summer weekends will likely find the good sites taken, and the fall and winter scores suggest this place isn't worth the drive once the season turns.

This location is available on a first-come, first-served basis only. Visitors are required to physically arrive at the campground to purchase and claim a site. Once on-site, you may be able to pay for your campsite(s) by scanning a QR code using the Recreation.gov mobile app, and the Scan and Pay feature.
If this option is available, you will need to first download the free Recreation.gov mobile app https://www.recreation.gov/mobile-app prior to your arrival as some remote areas have limited or no cellular service.
Located along the Chiwawa River, 21 miles from Lake Wenatchee, river access is available at the campground.

Summer offers the most reliable warm, dry weather and the easiest road access — daytime highs near the Chiwawa River are commonly in the mid-60s to mid-80s°F with cool nights in the 40s–50s. Riverside camping, swimming in calmer stretches, fishing, and day trips to nearby Lake Wenatchee are at their peak then, and the campground’s first-come, first-served sites fill early in the morning. Expect moderate crowds on weekends and holidays; arrive early to claim a riverside site and be aware of late‑ Peak months: July, August, June, September Avoid: December, January, February
