Best season: summer. Summer offers the most reliable access and the best weather for enjoying Goose Creek’s two waterways — expect warm, mostly dry days in the 70s–80s°F (20s–high 20s°C) with cool nights in the 40s–50s°F (5–12°C). Water-based activities (swimming, wading, riverside relaxing) and day hikes are at their peak as snow recedes and trails are usually clear; fishing is productive as flows moderate from spring runoff. Expect moderate crowds on summer weekends at this small, 29-site, first-come-first-served, Peak months: July, August, June, September Avoid: December, January, February
