Best season: fall. Fall offers the best balance of weather, scenery, and solitude at Cherry Creek—expect crisp, clear days (typically 45–60°F / 7–15°C) and chilly nights (often 20–35°F / -6–2°C) with the onset of colorful aspen and willow tones. This is prime time for wildlife viewing as elk and deer become more active, and the campground is much quieter than summer, making the nine first-come sites easier to snag.
