Deer Point campground provides protection from down-lake winds but no protection from up-lake winds. Summer is the main season here. Daytime temperatures run mid-70s to mid-90s°F, with nights cooling to the mid-40s to low-60s°F. The lake warms to 55-65°F by late summer, making swimming and water sports practical. This is also when the dock sees the most use and water taxis run regularly. Spring and fall are cooler but bring fewer crowds. Winter temperatures can drop to 25°F, and the campground sees occasional snow.
Peak season May–Oct; warm weather, swimming and boating are most popular in summer.
