Summer delivers the most reliable access and warmest conditions. Highs in the mid-60s to low-70s°F, lows in the 30s to 40s°F. Snow clears from trails, wildflowers peak, and daylight stretches long. Crowds stay low to moderate compared to lower-elevation trailheads. Winter brings heavy snow, often 6+ inches per week, which closes access for most campers. Spring and fall are transitional. Expect unpredictable conditions but fewer people.
“Summer delivers the most reliable access and warmest conditions.”
Halfway Springs offers minimal amenities, emphasizing its status as a rustic, dispersed camping area. Campers should be prepared for the lack of facilities.
