Go if

Horse campers get a rare find: two sites with corrals at $10 a night, deep in the northeastern Washington highlands. OHV riders and day hikers who want a quiet mid-week base camp without paying resort prices will also fit right in.

Skip if

No potable water means hauling your own supply for the entire trip, and with only 14 first-come-first-served sites, summer weekend arrivals without an early start risk finding the camp full. No hookups, no showers, no cell info either.
