<p>This shaded horse camp is located across the road from the <a href="http://www.fs.usda.gov/recarea/colville/recreation/recarea/?recid=67890">Old Stage/Midnight Ridge Trailhead</a>, which offers a great horseback, hiking, or mountain biking loop opportunity. The 6-unit campground offers parking spurs, picnic tables, rock fire rings, creek access for watering stock, and an outhouse. The area is fenced with cattleguards to keep cattle out. There is a 6-foot bypass gate adjacent to the entrance road cattleguard to allow stock users access to the trail system. There are currently no corrals, highlines, or hitching rails at this campground.</p>

Summer delivers the best conditions. Expect warm days in the mid-60s to mid-80s°F and cool nights in the 40s to 50s. Trails off Old Stage/Midnight Ridge dry out and pack down by July and August, making this the peak window for riding and biking. Weekends draw moderate crowds at popular trailheads, so weekday trips or early arrivals help secure sites. The camp typically operates from mid-May through late October. Winter access roads go unplowed.
