Fall offers the most reliable combination of crisp, clear weather and spectacular foliage — expect daytime highs in the 45–60°F range and cool nights often dropping into the 30s, especially in October. Leaf-peeping and hiking are at their peak, with forest colors usually cresting from late September through mid-October at this elevation (1,263 ft). Crowds increase on peak-color weekends but remain manageable on weekdays, and bugs are largely gone, making it ideal for photography, ridge walks, or Peak months: October, September, June, July Avoid: January, February
