Families with kayaks or paddleboards on the brain: rentals are cheap and on-site, the swim beach is supervised with separated sections, and Otters Path gives kids a real wildlife-watching hike. Sites have water and electric, and the bathhouse gets cleaned daily.
No pets allowed, full stop. RVs over 30 feet will battle uneven, tight sites even with leveling blocks, and a handful of reviewers found the showers underwhelming despite otherwise clean facilities.

Summer is the busiest season and the most practical for water activities. Expect mid-70s to low-90s°F during the day, cooler evenings in the 60s, and occasional thunderstorms. The lakes are warm enough for swimming, and paddleboard and kayak rentals are in full operation. Reserve cabins and campsites early for summer weekends. Spring and fall offer fewer crowds and comfortable temperatures for hiking, though the concession stand and beach facilities may operate on reduced hours or close entirely.
