Expect daytime highs roughly 50–65°F and nighttime temps in the 30s–40s, ideal for full-day hikes and wildlife viewing (deer and raptors are more visible). Crowds are highest on October weekends along Skyline Drive and at trailheads, so visit weekdays or early/—/ Peak months: October, September, May, June Avoid: November, December, January, February
Fall highlighted as best: peak foliage late Sept–mid-Oct; reviewers and seasonal info praise leaf-peeping.
