Fall is the clear winner here. Daytime highs hover around 50–65°F, nights drop into the 30s and 40s, and the humidity breaks after summer. The foliage peaks without the crowds of lower-elevation spots, and trails into the wilderness are at their best for photography and long hikes. Summer stays cooler than the valleys thanks to elevation. Mornings and evenings feel genuinely crisp even when lowlands hit 90°F. Expect more bugs and afternoon thunderstorms in the warm months. Winter and early spring can be cold and damp at this altitude.
Fall described as the clear winner: peak foliage, cooler days, scenic beauty without crowds.
Potable water is not available at this site.
