Best season: spring. Spring offers the best combination of comfortable weather and peak natural activity: expect daytime highs around 55–75°F and cool nights in the mid-30s to 50°F, with Potts Creek running lively from seasonal runoff. Wildflowers and fresh green foliage make trails and creekside views especially scenic, while trout fishing is typically productive after spring flows settle. Crowds are moderate—busier than early April but much quieter than mid-summer—so small groups can enjoy the campground’s shady, Peak months: May, April, June, September Avoid: November, December, January, February
Spring is called the "sweet spot": strong creek flow, wildflowers and improved trout fishing.
