Natural Features and SceneryThe ridge rises high above the carved depths of Price Canyon, offering commanding views of the canyon below. Ponderosa pines dominate the canopy, providing shade and the distinct character of high-elevation terrain. The 2021 Bear Fire burned through most of the bristlecone pine stands that once covered this ridgetop, but scattered intact groves still survive in certain areas. The burned sections have opened into recovering grasslands that bloom with wildflowers each summer, creating a patchwork landscape where ancient trees, young shrubs, and seasonal color share the ridge. Bristlecone Ridge and the surrounding crags retain the feel of high country despite the fire's marks.
