Best season: summer. Summer offers the best combination of mild, dry weather and access to the lake/shore activities—expect cool mornings in the 50s°F, comfortable afternoons in the low-to-mid 60s°F (occasionally touching the 70s on the warmest days), and crisp evenings in the 40s–50s°F. This is peak time for boating, swimming, fishing, and hiking beneath the towering Douglas firs, with morning coastal mist that usually burns off to pleasant, sunny afternoons. Crowds are still low compared with the larger nearby day Peak months: August, July, September, June Avoid: December, January, February, March
Summer offers the most reliable weather; campground open starting Memorial Day with mild temps.

East Shore Campground offers basic amenities with a focus on simplicity and connection to nature. The campground provides six campsites equipped with picnic tables and fire rings. Site #6 is accessible, and paved roads and vehicle parking are available. Vault toilets are provided, but there is no potable water, so campers must bring their own. A small day-use area across the street provides access to Loon Lake, and East Shore Campers are allowed to use this area without an additional fee.
