Best season: summer. Summer offers the most reliably pleasant weather—daytime highs typically reach the upper 60s (about 65–72°F) with cool nights in the mid-40s to low-50s—making it ideal for swimming, canoeing, trout fishing, and full-day hikes without oppressive heat. The water is at its warmest and the trails are fully clear of snow, so boating and family-friendly lake activities are at their peak. Expect moderate to busy campground occupancy in July and early August; reservations are recommended for weekends. Peak months: July, August, September, June Avoid: October, November, December, January
Peak season: warm days, swimming, hiking and family visits; busy and noisier at peak.
