Summer is the best time to visit Scissortail for full access to Arcadia Lake's water recreation — expect daytime highs commonly in the mid-80s to mid-90s°F and warm evenings in the 60s–70s, ideal for swimming, boating, and fishing. Lake-based activities are at their peak, boat launches and swim areas are open, and wildlife viewing (waterfowl, shorebirds) is excellent. Expect higher weekend crowds and busy boat ramps, so reserve sites and launch times early and plan for afternoon thunderstorms on Peak months: June, September, May, October
