Anglers and boaters do well here. The big boat launch with dedicated trailer parking is a real convenience, sites have water and electric, and the lake stays fishable all summer. Families report kid-friendly events and staff that actually help.

The North Branch of Kokosing Lake has lake front camping. A small, quiet (154 acre) fishing lake has a 10-hp limit. Located 1.5 miles from Fredericktown, off OH 13.
Kokosing Lake is about 15 minutes north of Mount Vernon and just west of Fredericktown, Ohio. From Fredericktown, access to the dam is via State Route 13 north to Waterford Road. The dam is located on the right about 2 miles from the Waterford Road and Route 13 junction. Kokosing Campground and picnic areas are also on the right just off Waterford Road about 1/2 mile further.
