Best season: fall. Early fall offers cooler, drier weather and the most pleasant conditions for hiking, paddling, fishing and wildlife viewing — expect daytime highs in the 60s–70s°F and nighttime temps in the mid-40s–50s°F in early September. Lake breezes reduce humidity and trout/ bass activity is good, while trails and shoreline are quieter after the summer holiday crowds. Note: the campground's official season ends September 1, so you’ll get the best campground experience in late August to very early September Peak months: August, July, June, May Avoid: October, November, December, January
Early fall offers comfortable temps and great views, but official season ends Sept 1.

Mill Creek Campground offers a wide range of amenities catering to campers' needs. The campground features a total of 295 sites, with over 100 sites equipped with electrical hookups. Other facilities include flush restrooms, shower houses, a dump station, boat ramps, playgrounds, volleyball courts, picnic tables, and grills/fire rings. The campground is highly diverse, offering both wooded and open areas, some with waterfront views. However, there are no full hookup sites available, and showers and restrooms have been noted in reviews as needing maintenance. "Restrooms were clean and stocked," noted one reviewer, while another mentioned, "Flush toilets are directly across the road. Regarding those convenient flush toilets, yuck. They are outdated... filthy." Additionally, potable water is available via several faucets located in the area, although some reviews suggest that the water pressure could be better.
