Solo or couple tent campers expecting a secluded backcountry feel will find only five sites, no hookups, and a pack-in/pack-out trash policy. The pool chlorination system has also failed in past Augusts, so late-summer visits are a gamble on the main draw.
Compare with similar sites, watch availability, and build a packing list — Camp Sage handles all of it.
Summer delivers the warmest conditions. Mid-70s to mid-80s during the day, mid-50s to mid-60s at night. And full access to swimming, boating, and fishing. The pool operates from late spring through early fall, though it's sometimes cold and the chlorination system has failed in previous Augusts. Trails stay open year-round. Winter brings snow for cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, and snowmobiling, but expect icy conditions on the waterfall trail. Bring sturdy boots if you visit between December and March. Fall foliage peaks in early October. Spring means swollen waterfalls from snowmelt but cooler, wetter trail conditions.
Trails and valley views make fall hiking/foliage strong draws (reviews praise hikes).

Mine Kill State Park offers a variety of amenities designed to cater to a wide range of visitors. Key facilities include bicycle riding paths, a boat launch, restrooms, showers, and picnic areas. Within the park, you can find an Olympic-sized swimming pool, a wading pool, and a diving pool that are free to use. Additionally, the park has educational programs, disc golf with equipment available for rental, and 8 miles of hiking and mountain biking trails. Reviewers commonly praise the clean bathrooms and showers. However, the park operates on a 'pack-in, pack-out' policy, meaning there are limited trash facilities.
